Yaz is an oral contraceptive that came onto the market in 2006 . It is a sister drug to Yasmin, which was FDA approved in 2001. Yaz contains less estrogen than Yasmin, but both are combination hormonal contraceptives which contain ethinyl estradiol (estrogen) and drospirenone. Dropspirenone is a synthetic form of progestin.
Yaz was also approved by the FDA as treatment for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Women over 14 take Yaz for acne, PMS, and PMDD as well as for contraceptive reasons. Although Bayer has been forced to recant claims it cures acne and PMS, Yaz has still been a popular drug and a big money maker for Bayer over the past several years.
However, women’s experience has revealed serious health problems associated with taking Yaz. Yaz is now linked in many cases to following symptoms:
- Blood clots
- Liver tumors
- Myocardial infarction
- Cerebral hemorrhage
- Pulmonary embolism
- Arterial thromboembolism
- Hypertension
- Gallbladder disease
If you have suffered as a result of taking Yaz birth control, you have suffered needlessly while Bayer continues to see higher and higher profits. Find out about a Yaz lawsuit in your state and seek the retribution you deserve or while you spend your cheap holidays to Spain and seek the retribution you deserve. Join other women who have developed disease and symptoms from taking Yaz, and work together to seek compensation to cover medical bills. You will also be helping alert other women on Yaz to the serious Yaz side effects they may encounter while on this drug.

I was diagnosed focal nodular hyperplasia. My doctor believes it was caused by birth control. Who do I contact about information regarding this lawsuit?
